Marjory Hawkins

Founding Hawkins Public Relations (HPR) in 1990, Marjory Hawkins has enjoyed an impressive track record for a diverse client base seeking prestigious positioning, branding and enhanced public awareness. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Hawkins leads a team of public relations professionals generating and securing attention from both domestic and international media.

Hawkins’ distinguished career includes her much-heralded work with luxury destinations and services. While representing Shutters on the Beach ( Santa Monica, CA), she secured an unprecedented live CNN broadcast from the Shutters lobby, live Oscar shows for BBC’s Good Morning and broadcasts with 60 Minutes, 20/20, Prime Time, E! Entertainment, Entertainment Tonight and the Today Show. In addition to generating favorable high-profile publicity, Hawkins landed a lucrative movie deal for Shutters with Sony Pictures’ Something’s Gotta Give. She also oversaw hotel annual events such as the British Academy of Film & Television Arts pre-Oscar party and Showtime's Independent Film Award parties. She maintains relationships with celebrity and entertainment publicists in Los Angeles and New York .

Her Los Angeles beginnings saw her helping to build the Epson America brand, introducing the first laptop computer and LCD handheld color television. An account supervisor at one of the top celebrity and corporate PR agencies in Los Angeles (Rogers and Cowan), she managed Ralston Purina’s Celebrity Cat Calendar, Princess Cruises, Petersen Publishing (now Primedia), the Southern California development of Rancho Santa Margarita and Southfork Ranch. 

Hawkins is an active member of the International Spa Association (ISPA) and an ex-officio president of the San Francisco Bay Area Publicity Club.  She also owns and operates vacation rental home properties in Mexico and France . Hawkins graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism.
